Sven Schild from Alliant International University (AIU)

Mr. Sven Schild, MS, is a doctoral candidate in the clinical psychology program at AIU in San Diego. Mr. Schild earned a BA in psychology from Park University in 2000, a MA in psychology from the University of Central Missouri in 2002, and a MA in psychology from AIU in 2004. As part of his graduate training at AIU, Mr. Schild completed a one-year practicum at Signs of Life in 2004. He conducted intake screenings and psychological testing, as well out-patient psychotherapy to deaf and hard of hearing clients.

Since Mr. Schild left Signs of Life he has also completed a one-year internship at Bayview Behavioral Health Campus, a psychiatric hospital in Chula Vista, as well as a one-year internship at the university counseling center at California State University in San Marcos. Mr. Schild is fluent English, American Sign Language (ASL), and German. His professional and research interest include topics related to deafness, multi-culture psychology, identity developement, and psychological trama. After completing his graduate training in clinical psychology, Mr. Schild is interested in continuing his work with the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Community.
