Quang-Tuyen Nguyen - UCSD Volunteer!

Quang-Tuyen, abbreviated to Q. for short – is an intern from a new ASL Language and Deaf Culture program at the UCSD School of Medicine. She visited Signs Of Life last year with this program and decided to volunteer for us this year. She studied at Harvard University, and she spent part of this summer at Galluadet. The UCSD program helps the Deaf community by increasing awareness, experience, and access. Q and the rest of her class are presenting ASL health seminars in San Diego! One of her current projects is to better understand the risk factors for - and incidence of - substance abuse, commonly under-reported in all communities. She is excited about volunteering at Signs of Life!
